Piper

Piper

Breed: Beagle/Coonhound Mix
Sex: Female, spayed
Estimated Birth Date: 8/12/2020
Size: Small. She weighs 20 pounds but needs to put some weight on
Good With Kids: Unknown but would probably be okay with children over 6
Good With Cats: Unknown
Good With Dogs: Yes
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Piper is a great dog! She does have the bad habit of chewing on electric cords and small plastic things she mistakes for toys. Her new family will have to be very watchful of her and ensure that her area is free of items she isn’t allowed to chew on. She is scared of loud noises so a calm and quiet home would be best.

Additional Information: Piper is calm and very well mannered. She loves her people! She loves to run and play chase. She is working on her commands and knows sit, stay, down, leave it, shake, touch, high five, HUP (allowable perimeter area when off leash). She is very smart.

*Currently in our Canine Inmate Program.*

Adoptions During COVID-19

*CRC Adoptions Currently on Hold*
In light of the current social distancing and essential business restrictions, we are unable to do adoptions for any of our dogs in the Canine-Inmate Program located at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient. However, we ARE still doing adoptions for dogs that are in foster homes.
On the biography of each dog, it will state whether the dog is in a foster home or in the Canine-Inmate Program. If you are interested in meeting a fostered dog, please fill out an online application. We are conducting virtual home visits and doing “touch free” handoffs once you have been approved.

We thank you for your understanding as we work to ensure that our staff, volunteers and community remain healthy as we all navigate through this together.  You can also always help support us and the animals currently in our care by shopping at Kroger and AmazonSmile when you stock up on supplies!  Please be smart and stay safe, everyone!! 🙂

All Adoptions Currently on Hold

In light of the current events, we are currently unable to schedule home visits, visits to our canine-inmate facility and adoptions within our foster homes in accordance with the recommendations from the CDC to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. This change will be in effect until further notice and we will continue to monitor the situation and confer with experts and our facilities.

We know this is disappointing, but we thank you for your understanding as we work to ensure that our staff, volunteers and community remain healthy as we all navigate through this together. In the meantime, you can still help support the animals currently in our care by shopping at Kroger and AmazonSmile when you stock up on supplies!

We look forward to matching you with your forever friend down the road. 🙂 Please be smart and stay safe, everyone!!
