Chili

Chili

Breed: Beagle mix
Sex: Female, spay surgery is scheduled
Estimated Birth Date: February 2018
Size: 25 pounds
Good With Kids: Yes but children older than 8 might be best
Good With Cats: Yes
Good With Dogs: Yes
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Chili will do best in a calm and quiet home where her family will be patient with her as she comes out of her shell. True to her Beagle heritage she loves to go on walks and follow her nose. Chili isn’t as energetic as most Beagles we’ve met, but she will require daily exercise. She would love a person that enjoys naps and cuddling.

Additional Information: Chili is fearful of loud noises and sudden movements. We don’t think she was exposed to much in her previous life so patience and positive reinforcement will be necessary as she navigates her new world.

Ranger

Ranger

Breed: Shepherd/Beagle mix
Sex: Male, neutered
Estimated Birth Date: 3/15/2021
Size: 24 pounds currently. We estimate he will be 30 pounds or so when full grown.
Good With Kids: Yes
Good With Cats: No
Good With Dogs: Yes
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: In process

Recommended Environment: Ranger will thrive in a home where his family is willing to work on his training in a fun, high-energy, low stress manner. He needs to work on his manners so obedience training is highly recommended. Ranger’s life has been turned upside down so he is timid around loud noises so a less rambunctious home would be best. He would love to have a canine sibling that is willing to play and tolerate Ranger’s eager and playful personality. An apartment is not recommended as he barks at people and dogs walking past his home and is vocal as he continues to adjust to his crate.

Additional Information: Ranger is quite the velcro dog. He loves being with his people. He has started exhibiting some separation anxiety; his foster parents are working on it and feel it will resolve once he is in his stable forever home. We discovered that Ranger does not care for thunder. His foster family has been playing thunderstorm noises and using positive reinforcement to try to desensitize him to the sound. With time, love, and patience, Ranger will be an amazing addition to any family.

Lilly

Lilly

Breed: Pug mix
Sex: Female. Too young to spay
Estimated Birth Date: 11/15/2021
Size: currently 12 pounds but we estimate she’ll grow to be under 25 pounds
Good With Kids: Not tested but we feel she will be fine
Good With Cats: Yes
Good With Dogs: Yes
Housetrained: In process
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Lilly would do great with a big family with a lot of people to give her love and attention. Her favorite place to sleep is on someone’s lap. She needs a family that is willing to continue with crate training, potty training, and leash training. She would love a family with another dog that wants to play with her.

Additional Information: The American Kennel Club lists Pugs as “charming, loving, and mischievous.” We couldn’t agree more! Lilly’s foster told us she is fearless and extremely enthusiastic when meeting new people. She loves to walk and play outdoors.

Spot

Spot

Breed: Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog mix
Sex: Male, neutered
Estimated Birthdate: 2/13/21
Size: Currently 43 pounds but may be over 50 pounds full grown (we’re guessing)
Good With Kids: Unknown, but probably ok with older children that he can’t knock over
Good With Cats: Unknown
Good With Dogs: Yes!
Housetrained: In process
Crate Trained: In process. He doesn’t go in willingly but is quiet once he is in the crate

Recommended Environment: Spot is a typical energetic puppy. He does need to learn some manners. He would greatly benefit from obedience training! He loves playing with other dogs and meeting new people. Having a canine playmate in the home would be ideal but not required as long as he gets doggy playtime. We recommend an experienced dog owner. Border Collies and Australian Cattle Dogs are highly intelligent and require training.

Additional Information: It is hard to get a decent picture of Spot because he is either playing or coming to his person for attention. Check out the Cruella de Vil marking on his head! He is working on learning new commands but gets distracted easily. He is very sweet, affectionate and playful and will make a fun companion to any family.

Hansel

Hansel

Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog mix
Sex: Male, neutered
Estimated Birthdate: 4/3/2021
Size: currently 40 pounds but will grow a little more
Good With Kids: Unknown but most likely yes
Good With Cats: Unknown
Good With Dogs: Yes
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Hansel is a bit of a velcro dog and needs to be with his people. It would be best if he wasn’t left alone for long periods of time. He is very intelligent and curious and will require plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He would REALLY like to have another dog in his home.

Additional Information: Hansel just wants to be near his human all the time. We were having a hard time getting a decent picture of him! When he first arrived, he liked to race toward people and take flying leaps to get in their laps. He is currently working on containing his exuberance. Continued obedience training, consistency, and positive reinforcement will help him reach his full potential.

Milo

Milo

Breed: Hound/Lab mix
Sex: male, too young to neuter
Estimated Birthdate: 8/3/2021
Size: currently 12 pounds, will probably be medium sized when full grown
Good With Kids: Unknown but should be fine
Good With Cats: Unknown but will most likely want to chase and play with cats
Good With Dogs: Yes
Housetrained: Almost!
Crate Trained: In process, he currently cries for about 30 minutes at first and then goes to sleep

Recommended Environment: Milo loves to play, walk and snuggle (especially when there is a blanket involved. His new family needs to have time to play with him, give him plenty of exercise, and lots of snuggle time. He would do well in a house or apartment. He would love a canine companion as long as it isn’t older and will tolerate a puppy pestering it. Regular visits to the dog park are a must; he feels the need to greet all the humans in attendance. He is a typical puppy and likes to take things that aren’t necessarily toys for him. His new family must be very careful to keep hazardous items out of reach.

Additional Information: Since he is so young, continued obedience training is recommended. Consistency and positive reinforcement are necessary. He is doing well on a leash and loves to go on walks. He feels he is a guard dog so his foster is working with him on appropriate barking.
