Buddy (formerly Petey)

ADOPT recently received an update from Buddy’s (formerly Petey) new family. We’re so happy he found a wonderful family of his own!

We are in love! Thanks so much for allowing us to adopt him, he has been such a welcomed addition to our family.

Calvin

Calvin

Breed: Beagle mix
Sex: Male, neutered
Estimated Birthdate: 12/18/2020
Size: 23 pounds but not quite full grown. We feel he will be small to medium
Good With Kids: Unknown but we feel he will be ok
Good With Cats: Unknown but probably not
Good With Other Dogs: Yes! He loves his canine friends
Housetrained: In progress
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Calvin will go willingly into his crate but isn’t always quiet when he is in there. He would be better in a house than an apartment. Calvin would do best with a canine companion; he loves playing with his buddy. He is a Beagle and loves to follow his nose. A fenced in yard would be ideal but isn’t required. Several walks throughout the day are a must! Whoever is walking him should be prepared for plenty of sniff stops. He is an active and intelligent dog and will require mental stimulation and physical exercise.

Additional Information: Calvin is a sweet dog and very snuggly. He is fairly calm. He is not quite as energetic as his sister Audrey but loves playing with her. He loves meeting new people and dogs. He is learning some of his commands but needs more time to master them. He also needs to work on his leash manners. Consistency and positive reinforcement will aid in his training.

Audrey

Audrey

Breed: Beagle mix
Sex: Female, spayed
Estimated Birthdate: 12/18/2020
Size: Currently 20 pounds but is still growing. She’ll probably be small when full grown
Good With Kids: Unknown but most likely yes
Good With Cats: Unknown but probably not
Good With Dogs: Yes!
Housetrained: In progress
Crate Trained: In progress. She doesn’t go in willingly but is pretty quiet once she’s in it

Recommended Environment: Audrey is a typical Beagle and needs to smell everything. Her new family must be patient when walking her so she can stop and sniff everything. Frequent walks are a must and she would love a fenced in yard to play in. She loves meeting new people and other dogs. A canine companion or frequent doggy play dates would be great. She loves playing with her brother Calvin.

Additional Information: Audrey is working on her commands and listens well. Consistency and positive reinforcement will be required in her continued training. Since she is intelligent she will need mental stimulation, toys, and physical exercise to keep her engaged and out of trouble.

Pixie

Pixie

Breed: Lab/Terrier Mix
Sex: Female, spayed
Estimated Birthdate: July 15, 2021
Size: Currently 12 pounds but still growing. Might be medium sized when full grown
Good With Kids: Untested, but probably.
Good With Cats: Unknown
Good With Dogs: Yes! She loves her foster brother
Housetrained: In process
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Pixie would love to be in a home with another dog and a yard to play in. She is a typical puppy and will put anything in her mouth so her new home will need to stay puppy-proofed! Plenty of socialization, activity and walks are necessary.

Additional Information: Pixie is working on her commands and leash training but will benefit from further training and consistency. A puppy is a lot of work so her new family will need to be prepared for this. She is very food motivated which will help with her training. She loves to give kisses and snuggle. Be prepared to open your heart!

Daisy

Daisy

Breed: Lab/Terrier mix
Sex: Female, spayed
Estimated Birthdate: 7/15/2021
Size: Currently 12 pounds but she’s still growing. She will most likely be a medium sized dog
Good With Kids: Yes, she has been around children over 3 years
Good With Dogs: Yes
Good With Cats: Unknown, no exposure
Housetrained: In process
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Though it isn’t a requirement, Daisy would love another dog in the home. Her favorite place to sit is on top of another dog; whether she’s gazing out the window or waiting at the door for her humans. Hopefully her new sibling is ok with this! Daisy loves all kinds of games, jumping on couches or beds, and TOYS! She’s also a sock stealer so remember to keep them off the floor where they won’t become a risky snack. She gets pretty excited and vocal when she wakes on the morning so an apartment might not be the best fit.

Additional Information: Daisy loves meeting new people. If they’re not a fan of dogs, she will win them over. She has been quite the pleasant distraction at the soccer field. Daisy is young and working on her leash manners but will benefit from continued training.

Harley

Harley

Breed: Border Collie/Sheltie mix
Breed Information: Harley has definitely inherited the Border Collie herding instinct
Sex: Female, spayed
Estimated Birthdate: September 2018
Size: Medium, 29 pounds
Good With Kids: Yes, but they need to be at least 8 years old
Good With Cats: No
Good With Dogs: Yes
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Harley prefers to be with older children whose behaviors are more predictable. She doesn’t like loud noises or sudden, unpredictable movements. She is uneasy around new people and needs slow introductions. She would prefer a calm, quiet environment. A fenced yard would be great but it is not required. She would love a window where she can watch squirrels.

Additional Information: Harley is the biggest snuggler. She loves nothing more than to curl up in a ball on your lap or roll over for a belly rub. Harley seems to like other dogs but she will do fine as the only dog in the home. If she had to choose between a dog buddy and a person; her person would win every time. She is great on a leash! She does get excited when she sees a squirrel, but has learned the “leave it” command.
