Adopted – Congrats!

Britta

Britta

Britta is possibly one of the cutest puppies, ever. Her mom is a Schnauzer and her dad is a mystery! Whatever the combo is, it’s really cute and pretty darn sweet. We estimate that the litter was born the first week of September and that they will be small dogs when fully grown. Britta is in foster care where she is holding her own with her canine foster brother and doing all the things that puppies do. Even though she is outrageously adorable, she is a puppy and puppies are work. It’s important to remember when bringing in a new family member that this is a long term commitment, it requires patience, time, training, money, and the occasional loss of a shoe. Please consider all the responsibilities that goes into adopting any pet before bringing them home. If you’re ready though and think Britta is the one, please fill out an online application. Because of her age, we will ONLY be accepting Columbus area applications so that she can continue with her shot series and her spay with our local veterinarian.

Taco

Breed: Chihuahua
Sex: Male neutered
Age: Senior (7+)
Size: Toy (up to 12 lbs)
Good with kids: 8+

Recommended environment: Taco loves to be with his humans and looooves to snuggle. He ignores cats, likes other calm dogs, and walks nicely on his leash. His sole mission is truly to find a lap to curl up on. He is fine in his crate but we would love for him to have someone home since he’s so affectionate.
*in a foster home*
Additional information: Taco is on Metacam for arthritis.

Vito

Vito

Vito arrived from a rural Kentucky kill shelter and we’re happy he’s here. He’s enjoying being clean, well fed, and having a blanket to curl up in. He’s a lively little guy and very sweet. Chihuahuas in general tend to bond very closely with their person and become very attached. He has not been tested with children but typically Chi’s are not recommended for a family with small kids. Vito would do well in a home where he gets lots of love and affection and gets to explore the outdoors with daily outings. If you would like to meet this handsome boy, please fill out an online application.

Ava

Ava

This little spark plug has both beauty and brains! Ava is (most likely) a blend of Corgi, Australian Shepherd, and maybe a splash of Lab! She’s the perfect size and has a thick, soft, beautiful coat. Ava has one bright blue eye and one eye that is half blue and half brown. Her personality seems to be dominantly Corgi…she loves her person or people and is very motivated to please. She will follow you around but is also social and likes to meet new people as well. She is energetic, learns very quickly, and will be a great companion for an active home. She is happy to curl up and lounge around, but will also need regular exercise to keep from becoming bored. Ava is part of our canine-inmate program where she is learning her basic commands. She’s an absolute doll! If you would like to meet Ava, please fill out an online application.

Jade

Jade

Jade’s name comes from the gemstone which has historically been used to attract love and promote wisdom, balance and peace. While she is currently “unpolished” she has tremendous beauty that lies beneath. Jade arrived with a terrible case of Demodex mange and was virually hairless. She is being treated, doing wonderfully and is starting to grow her coat. When she first came to us she was desperate to love someone but fearful, army crawling through rooms and being afraid of things that were unfamiliar. She now has shown her resilience and is a happy, affectionate girl gaining confidence every day. Her tail is constantly wagging and she’s happy to be alive. Jade has eyes that truly seem to look directly into your soul and has the kindest disposition. She is being fostered with 2 canine foster brothers and plays well with both. She sleeps quietly in her crate and takes her medicine like a champ! We hope that someone is able to look past her current “nakedness” and see the amazing girl that we know she is…if you do and would like to meet her, please fill out an online application.

Jake

Jake

Jake is a great little guy that came in with his brother from a rural kill shelter. He’s a confident, playful, smart pup who LOVES his toys, especially balls. His foster mom says that he’s pretty chill for a puppy and loves his canine foster siblings. The cats aren’t his biggest fans, but well, they’re cats. He’s been respectful and doesn’t chase them though, so maybe they should just cut him some slack! He’s doing great with housetraining and crate training and can hold it through the night (yay!) We like to remind people that even though puppies have the best puppy smell, and they’re hilarious to watch…they require time and energy. They need continued training, patience, vet visits…plus you may have a shoe or 5 sacrificed to the footwear gods. So if you’re ready for a lifetime adventure, please fill out an online application. Because Jake is young and still needs booster shots and his neuter from our local vet, we will only be accepting applications from Columbus, OH and it’s immediate vicinity.

Dakota

Dakota

If a tiara would stay on top of Dakota’s perfect little head, we would certainly put one on her! She is the only little girl pup in the litter of 3 that came to us from rural Kentucky. She is quite the beauty queen and loves attention! We can’t be certain of her heritage but she is most likely a hound breed mix. She has unique markings with a dark stripe running down her back and tail (always has to outdo the other girls at the pageant!) Dakota loves to be held and snuggled, loves playing with her foster sister, is good with children, and is working on crate training and potty training. She loves snacks and is very motivated to get all the right moves down for a treat! Because Dakota still needs her booster shots and her spay surgery by one of our local veterinarians, we will only be able to accept Columbus and immediate vicinity applications. If you would like to meet this lovely girl, please fill out an online application.

Johnny Wags

Johnny Wags

When you have a dog that wants to be close to you and wags his whole body it’s really, reeaalllyyy hard to get good pictures. Lots of close up nostril shots, or blurry face shots…you get the jist. So even though Johnny is a handsome fella, the pics are not the best! His body has seen better days…he came to us painfully thin and had some healing cuts and scars on his face. He has the start of a graying chin which just adds to the wisdom behind his eyes. Even though he had been severely neglected, his disposition remains sunny and upbeat. He’s affectionately called Johnny Wags because of his constantly thumping tail. He’s genuinely a lover and enjoys being with people. Johnny has entered the canine-inmate program where he’s learning all sorts of new things…including what it feels like to get regular meals, baths, and having a warm place to sleep. He is happy to explore the outside world and then just plop down next to his person. He’ll be a great (and grateful) companion for many years to come. If you’d like to meet Johnny Wags, please fill out an online application.

Chad

Chad

Sometimes we don’t need to use a lot of words to describe a dog…take Chad for example…just look at him. He’s ridiculously cute. Ridiculously. He arrived with 2 littermates and our best calculation is that they are about 10 weeks old and Hound mixes. Based on age and current weight, we are estimating that they’ll be 60+ pounds as adults (this is an estimate!) Chad is currently in foster care and is described as being a pretty chill little guy. He’s a typical pup and likes to play but isn’t a complete wildman. He is a snuggler, gets along with his canine foster siblings, and is working on crate training and housebreaking. So far so good, he’s had only a couple of accidents! Even though Chad is cute enough to make you drool, remember that puppies are work. They need continued training, socialization, and vet visits to keep them healthy and balanced. Because Chad still needs his boosters and his neuter surgery with our local vet, we will be accepting applications from Columbus, OH or the immediate vicinity only!!

Lola

Lola

We would love for someone to look into her eyes and fall for Lola, Lo-La, Lola. This sweet girl loves attention and will bond closely with her person. She is currently in a foster home with other dogs and cats. She loves the cats and will snuggle with them and try to groom them! She enjoys the other dogs but sometimes would prefer that she was the only one that got the attention. She knows several commands and is also housebroken. She is crate trained but will initially vocalize her disapproval of not being out and about! She settles right down, it’s just important that she gets to voice her opinion! Lola has done well with kids and has been to events where she was friendly with everyone. She is happy, healthy and ready for her forever home. That’s the way that we want it to stay, and always want it to be that way for Lola, Lo-la, Lola.
