Adopted – Congrats!

Nickles

Nickles

Everyone says the same thing when they see Nickels, “what a gorgeous dog!” He really is very unique looking! His eyes are a golden/amber color and his coat is colored like a candy Buckeye (gotta love that!) We’re not sure of his breed mix…possibly a combo of Beagle/Hound/Husky…but that’s just a guess! Nickels is young and full of energy, wanting to explore everything that he can. We believe he’s been confined most of his very short life so he is enthusiastic about all of his surroundings. Nickels has joined our canine-inmate program where he will have lots of attention and training. His new forever family must remember that learning is an ongoing process and they will have to continue his education with positivity. Nickels will thrive in an active environment where he can be part of the family and participate in daily walks or other adventures. A fenced in yard would be wonderful for him but is not a requirement as long as he has adequate exercise. If you would like to meet this stunning pup, please fill out an online application.

Henna

Henna

Some dogs get overlooked because they aren’t fancy or they don’t have flashy colors. Black dogs are harder to place because they don’t photograph well or look “mean.” Brown dogs are hard to place because they are “plain” and old dogs are hard to place because they’re, well, old. But ALL of these types of dogs have so much to offer, they just need the chance to show it. Henna is gorgeous in her own right. She has deep soulful brown eyes and a very soft, reddish coat. She has the cutest, naturally short tail with a little bit of white fur at the end. We think she’s some mix of Redbone Coonhound mix which are known to be deeply loyal and are driven to please their owners. Henna is extremely affectionate and loves people. She is not noisy and has been good in her crate. She loves to sniff around outdoors and check out her surroundings. Henna is a truly lovely girl who will do well in an environment where she is given lots of love and adequate exercise. If you’d like to meet her, please fill out an online application.

Joy

Joy

Joy is exactly what her name says she is…a joy. She is a happy, affectionate, sweet girl who loves to be with her person/people. She has been in a foster home with a canine companion and does great with him. Joy has exhibited some separation issues and doesn’t like to be left alone. It would be beneficial for her to be in a home with a canine companion or someone who is home during the day. She is what we affectionately call a “Velcro dog” and will follow you everywhere. We don’t have a history on Joy but at this stage in her young life she deserves stability and a family that will love her. Joy is most likely a Golden Retriever mix, perhaps with a herding breed. She is exceptionally smart, learns very quickly, and knows several commands. She looooves her toys, fetching balls, and mostly being near the people she’s attached to. Understand that Joy will require some patience and positive reinforcement so that she understands that when you leave, you will come back. She is a gorgeous, intelligent, and loving girl who needs someone willing to commit. She will give you loyalty and dedication until the end of time. If you’d like to meet Joy, please fill out an online application.

George

George

George came to us in October and was briefly adopted. He has come back to our rescue for the reason that many puppies are surrendered…they’re puppies. They are adorable, they are funny, they are wonderful…but they are also work. George has been part of our canine-inmate program where he has learned some of his basic commands, crate training, and housebreaking. He is very affectionate and smart. He loves to play outdoors and follow his nose, as most hound mixes do! George likes other dogs and is extremely friendly with everyone he meets. It is so important to understand when you bring a new pet into the household, regardless of age, that ongoing socialization and training is vital to their development. George is a wonderful puppy and will be a great addition to any household.

Audrey

Audrey

Audrey’s pictures don’t do her justice! She was named after Audrey Hepburn (the classic black and white film star, see what we did there?!) She’s the cutest little lowrider who’s whole body moves when she wags her tail. We think she’s a Dachshund mix, possibly with Rat Terrier but it’s hard to say. She is part of our canine-inmate program and is a favorite of everyone! Her background is a mystery but what we do know is that she’s a total sweetheart. Audrey will run to you and wait for all the attention that she is sure you want to give her! She’s doing well in the program, learning her basic commands. She is patiently waiting for that audition when someone sees her for the star that she is! If you’d like to meet Audrey, please fill out an online application.

Veronica

Veronica

Veronica is one of those puppies who seems wise beyond her young age. She loves people, she loves other dogs, she’s quiet in her crate and she has the best inquisitive head turn! We don’t have any history on Roni, just that she needed rescue help and we were more than happy to take her! She’s most likely a Boxer mix, but we really don’t know what else is floating around in her DNA. Best guess is that she’ll be around 50 lbs full grown, but that is truly an estimate. Roni is an absolute joy to be around but we always like to remind people that even though puppies are adorable, they require time, patience, and a lifelong commitment. It is essential to continue training, socialization, physical exercise and mental stimulation as well. Roni is available for adoption in the Columbus area only due to needing vaccine boosters and spay surgery (when she’s old enough) which will be done by one of our local veterinarians. If you would like to make this beautiful brindle girl a member of your family, please fill out an online application.

Maus

Maus

Maus is the tiny one of her litter. Her mom is a Schnauzer and her dad is a mystery! Even though she is small, she is mighty! We estimate that the litter was born the first week of September and that they will be small dogs when fully grown. Maus is in a foster home where she’s learning new things, playing, eating sleeping, and repeating! Even though she is outrageously adorable, she is a puppy and puppies are work. It’s important to remember when bringing in a new family member that this is a long term commitment. It requires patience, time, training, money, and the occasional loss of a shoe. Please consider all the responsibilities that goes into adopting any pet before bringing them home. If you’re ready though and think Maus is the one, please fill out an online application. Because of her age, we will ONLY be accepting Columbus area applications so that she can continue with her shot series and her spay with our local veterinarian.
