Your financial support helps our dogs and cats:
- Medical Attention: $100 affords diagnostic and medical care for 1 dog or cat
- Foster Care: $50 buys supplies needed for our foster program
You can also help make an animal's life better by sponsoring a pet. With a minimum donation of $25 you can help to keep a roof over a dog or cat. If you would like to help out one of these animals, please click the "Sponsor a Pet" link and send us your contact information.

Meet our current Featured Friend, Missy
This is Missy. Or as her foster mom calls her, Kissy Missy. She is such a sweet little love bug that loves to be petted, snuggle with you, and of course, give kisses. Unfortunately it looks like she did not have too much fortune while she was a stray. She must have been hit by a car a while ago because her back leg was broken a while ago. Fortunately, a kind family found her limping around the neighborhood and brought her to ADOPT.
ADOPT's vets are trying to see if her leg can be saved, but in the meantime, she doesn't let her leg keep her down. She speeds around the yard and loves to play with other dogs. She follows her foster mom everywhere and loves to be with you. She is doing pretty good for such a young dog at housebreaking with just a few accidents if she isn't watched closely. But she is starting to learn to go to the door to let you know she wants to go out. And she can hold it in the crate or all night. She really is a great dog with a lot of spirit. She needs a family who will treat her with the love and kindness she deserves.

Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo
Date: Sunday, May 17, 2009
Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Cost: Regular admission rates apply. Free to Columbus Zoo and Aquarium members.
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium understands the joy animals bring to our lives and we want to celebrate the special bond between people and pets with our Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo special event! In past years, Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo has been a wonderful success. Many adorable animals were adopted through the participation of numerous organizations. This year, the Zoo will be joined by A.D.O.P.T. and more than 20 other animal rescue groups from the Columbus, Ohio area. Guests can walk through Colo’s Cove to meet and mingle with their favorite four-legged friends in need of good homes!
